What is Revenue Sharing?
Revenue sharing is the next evolution in college sports. As of July 1, 2025, schools are allowed to directly pay student-athletes using a share of athletic department revenue.
Texas Tech University is now permitted to share up to $21.58 million of its departmental revenue directly with student-athletes. To support this transformational change, the Red Raider Club will be responsible for generating $14 million annually to help fund Texas Tech Athletics’ new revenue-sharing model. This funding will also support student-athlete scholarships, academic resources, professional development, leadership programming, nutritional offerings, and more.
This new chapter marks a bold evolution in collegiate athletics - and Texas Tech is committed to leading the way in building a sustainable, student-athlete-centered future.
Are Donations to the Red Raider Club Tax Deductible?
Donations made to the Red Raider Club, including the Matador Fund, are 100% tax-deductible.* Donations are made via the Texas Tech Foundation, Inc., a Texas nonprofit corporation qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Please Note: As of January 1, 2018, no portion of ticket purchases, including season tickets, annual seat contributions and suite contributions may be deducted as a charitable contribution. Donors should work closely with their tax advisor to assess each contribution to the Red Raider Club. Seat contributions continue to count towards RRC Membership.

What is the Current Red Raider Club Annual Fund Goal?
Starting in FY26 (September 1, 2025), the total Red Raider Club annual fund goal is $36,250,000.
This ambitious target combines annual seat contributions with philanthropic gifts to the new Matador Club Fund (previously the Excellence Fund) - now the home for all revenue-sharing and student-athlete support contributions.
Reaching this goal will take all Red Raiders giving at every level. Your support will directly shape rosters, fuel recruiting and retention efforts, and provide critical resources for our student-athletes.
Recurring gifts and broad alumni participation are essential. Together, we can sustain the momentum and power the next era of Texas Tech Athletics.
Do My Gifts Earn Red Raider Club Membership & Priority Points?
Yes! All donations to the Matador Fund will count towards RRC Membership and earn 5 priority points per $100.
