Andrea Tirey

Senior Associate Athletics Director / Development

 

Andrea Tirey is Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development for Texas Tech University Athletics, where she is responsible for the fundraising operation for the department.

 

Tirey began her career working for the Texas Legislature and late Rep. Buddy West. She served as legislative aide and district liaison working closely with the House Committee on Energy Resources and the Oilfield Cleanup Fund.

 

In 2007, she joined the Texas Tech University System as a development professional focusing on academic fundraising. Building on her experience, she led fundraising efforts for the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University before joining the athletics department as senior director of development. While there, Texas Tech University Athletics launched The Campaign for Fearless Champions, an ongoing, $160 million initiative to enhance athletics facilities, invest in scholarship endowments and grow the Fearless Champions Leadership Academy.

 

Currently, Tirey serves on the board of trustees of The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Texas, the longest-running and most successful women’s leadership development program in the United States.

 

Tirey received both her undergraduate degree in political science and her master’s in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University. She and her husband, Christopher, have three children, Caroline, Margaret and Charlotte.
